How to get the hidden $30/month “Walmart” T-mobile data plan and use Ice Cream Sandwich on a Galaxy Nexus

Would you prefer to pay less for your mobile phone but want unlimited data? Have you ever left the US for more than a month but had to pay your mobile bill while using none of it because of a 2 year contract? I was excited when I read about the Walmart data plan, a [...]

I’m famous on reddit, again

For the second time I’ve made it on to the front page of reddit. A picture of me lounging in the net in our house became popular earlier today and already has over 200 comments and 60,000 views. A higher res version of the same pic is included in this post for your viewing convenience. [...]

New domain name bn.ee

I’ve switched the domain name of my blog from http://bnee.com to something shorter: http://bn.ee. .ee is the top level domain for Estonia. I’ve moved my blog and other contents to http://blog.bn.ee so that http://bn.ee can be used as a URL shortener. If you’d like to create your own really short URL and you somehow think [...]

Communist Propaganda Signs in Central Vietnam

I put together some of my best shots of communist propaganda billboards in central vietnam. I took most of these photos while on a 10 day trip on the Ho Chi Minh trail via motorcycle. I liked one of these well enough that Lisa and I painted a mural of it in our bathroom.

Amazing Art Nouveau Windmill building in Buenos Aires (Confitería Del Molino)

I'm one of those guys in the swanky condo promo videos

This has been online for over a year, but I figured that since photos of me are so popular on the internet I’d share this video with you as well: I was featured in the background of a promo video for the SOMA Grand Lifestyle condos. You have to follow this link and fast forward [...]

This photo was taken in Hangzhou near a pedestrian underpass.

The Man in the Mirror

I’m going to try posting an interesting photo from my travels on a regular basis. I’ve got a pretty large number of photos that might be worth a look, posting all of them in a gallery would take a while but making a few of them into blog posts once in a while shouldn’t be [...]

Google China Logo Photos

I took these photos on a 2008 trip to China outside of Google’s Shanghai offices. I was actually going into the same building to visit a friend who worked at Trane Company, but I thought that if some Google-China news story came up these photos could be useful as stock photos. They are not great, [...]

Remnants of the Biosphere

via bldgblog.blogspot.com Really cool pics of nature reclaiming the biosphere. “The Biosphere, miles from nowhere when it was built in the 1980s, is now within the reach of a building boom streaking north from Tucson and south from Phoenix (and which some demographers say will eventually join the two cities, once 100 miles apart).”

No updates in a while? Look closer

This blog hasn’t gotten much attention in a while. I’ve been busy updating twitter, sharing things on google reader and blogging over at the BlinkTag blog. If you want to know what I’m up to, what I’m reading or how my business is doing, these are good things to check out.

New site design

It was about time to clean up the crusty wordpress template powering bnee.com. It was one of the first templates for wordpress I created, and it has powered this website since 2006. I’ve kept track of all of the revisions of my website since 1997, you can see the whole progression on my old stuff [...]

Children Dancing on a DOS prompt

A picture I took in Hong Kong recently got featured in the Error’d section of The Daily WTF. They even took the time to blur out the kid’s faces. Brendan Nee observed some children at a Hong Kong airport enjoying one of my favorite passtimes – dancing on a projected DOS prompt! View the post [...]

Warehouse Construction Video (with dance sequence)

I’ve been living in a live/work converted warehouse space in San Francisco for a few months now. Along with seven other people, we did all of the work of building out the space ourselves. My brother put together a video time-lapse montage of our progress and posted it on youtube, check it out: If anyone [...]

Make mailto: links open in gmail in Google Chrome browser (Windows XP & Vista)

I’ve been rocking Google’s new web browser Chrome for the last few days and really like it. Browsing craigslist and clicking on email mailto: links I realized there isn’t an obvious way to force these links to open a gmail window in Chrome. Most Windows systems will have the default mailto handler set as Outlook [...]

Beijing Beef vs Orange Chicken on Olympic opening day and free wifi at Houston airport

En route from Belize City I decided to honor the start of the 2008 Olympic Games by taking the Panda Express challenge. A sign in Houston’s George Bush Intercontintal Airport posed the question: “Which is better, Beijing Beef or Orange Chicken”. After trying both, I give the gold medal to Orange Chicken with Beijing Beef [...]
